Beneficiaries under the Ujjawala 2.0 scheme will get a gas connection as well as a fireplace and a first filled gas bottle. On this occasion, PM Modi will also talk to the beneficiaries of UP.
The central government will distribute one crore gas connections free of cost to the poor in the current financial year under Ujjawala 2.0. About five years ago today, before the UP elections, PM Modi unveiled the scheme on May 1, 2016 from Ballia district of the state.
An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that under the Ujjawala 2.0 scheme, cylinders and stoves costing more than Rs 800 are expected to be provided free of cost.
You can apply sitting at home
The scheme has now also launched an online application facility. Beneficiaries can avail the benefits of this scheme by applying online. You will get a deposit free gas connection with the first filled bottle and stove. A migrant worker can also get a connection separately. SC, ST poor families will also be given priority.
Notary affidavit is not required
Beneficiaries under this scheme have to fill up a form for KYC for which no notary affidavit is required. If tourists do not have a residence certificate, they will be given the option of self-declaration. People will be able to apply online through the Common Service Center or the gas companies' website.
