New Delhi: Home Insurance Scheme will provide coverage of Rs 3 lakh on earthquake and flood damage. Apart from this, up to Rs 3 lakh household goods and Rs 3 lakh personal accident cover will be given to two family members. The Modi government is preparing to come up with a scheme to damage houses in natural calamities like earthquakes or floods. After providing security cover to crores of people under Pradhan Mantri Jyoti Vima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Vima Yojana (PMSBY), the central government can now launch a home security scheme. This will include building damage as well as luggage and personal accident coverage.

According to sources, the central government will provide insurance coverage of Rs 3 lakh under the Home Insurance Scheme to cover damage to people's homes during natural calamities such as floods and earthquakes.

Along with this, coverage up to Rs 3 lakh will be for household goods and personal accident cover of Rs 3 lakh will be given to two family members taking the policy.

According to sources, the central government's scheme will be under general insurance companies and its premium will be linked to people's bank accounts. General insurance companies will give a quotation of more than Rs 1,000 per policy but the government wants to keep the premium of this policy around Rs 500. The central government is planning to set up the scheme at a higher level with the intention of providing protection to the people against the damage caused by heavy rains and other natural calamities.

The Modi government is already running two social security schemes. One of which is Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Vima Yojana (PMJJBY). Which was launched in 2015. The scheme provides life cover up to the age of 55 years. In case of death of the insured due to any reason, the nominee gets cover up to Rs. 2 lakhs. The annual premium of this scheme is Rs. 330. The benefit of this scheme can be availed from the age group of 18 to 50 years.

The second scheme is Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Vima Yojana (PMSBY). It was also launched in 2015. In this scheme, if the insured person dies in an accident or becomes completely disabled, he gets accident insurance of Rs. 2 lakh. In case of general disability, cover is Rs. 1 lakh. Indians between the ages of 18 and 70 can avail the benefits of this scheme.

Highlights of YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors):

The Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education today launched YUVA- Prime Minister’s Scheme For Mentoring Young Authors, an Author Mentorship programme to train young and budding authors (below 30 years of age) in order to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country, and project India and Indian writings globally

The launch of YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) is in tune with PM’s vision to encourage young writers to write about India's freedom struggle. It was during Mann ki Baat on 31 January 2021, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi called upon the young generation to write about freedom fighters, incidents associated with freedom, the saga of valour during the period of freedom struggle in their respective areas - as the best tribute to the heroes of India's freedom - as we celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence.

The winners will be announced on 15 August 2021.

The young authors will be trained by eminent authors/mentors.

Under the mentorship, the manuscripts will be readied by 15 Dec. 2021 for publication.

The published books will be launched on 12 January 2022 on the occasion of National Youth Day (Yuva Diwas).

A consolidated scholarship of Rs.50,000 per month for a period of six months per author will be paid under the Mentorship Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced the launch of the YUVA Mentoring scheme, a programme that will help young authors pursue their love for writing by promoting the Indian heritage and history through their works.

PM Modi said that the scheme aimed at creating a pool of under-30 authors to promote Indian heritage, culture and knowledge offers an "interesting opportunity" for youngsters to harness their writing skills and contribute to the nation's intellectual discourse.

A total of 75 authors will be selected through an All India Contest at MyGov.

The selection will be made by a Committee to be constituted by NBT.

The contest will run from 4th June to 31st July 2021.

The contestants will be asked to submit a manuscript of 5,000 words to judge its suitability to develop as a proper book under the Mentorship Scheme.

The names of selected authors will be announced on the occasion of Independence Day on 15th August 2021.

Based on mentorship, the selected authors will prepare manuscripts for final selection under the guidance of the nominated mentors.The entries of the winners will be readied for publication by 15th December 2021.The published books may be launched on 12th January 2022 on YUVA DIVAS or the National Youth Day.

Gujarat Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy Announced: Subsidy on motorcycle, e-rickshaw and 4-wheelers to be provided, 500 charging stations to come across state, CONFIRMS CM Vijay Rupani.With the aim to make Gujarat a pollution-free state, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced to implement Electrical vehicle policy in the state on Tuesday, June 22. The Chief Minister said the vehicle policy will be implemented for the next four years.

As per the policy envisaged by the Gujarat Chief Minister, the work will also be done for electric vehicle manufacturing. The focus in the electric segment will be on two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers, primarily on e-bike, rickshaw and automobile.

There will be subsidy of Rs 20,000 on ebike, 50,000 on e-rikshaw and 1.5 lakh on four wheelers will be provided to promote consumption of clean energy. The government will also set up 500 charging stations in the length and breadth of the state and will provide subsidy on them too. A subsidy of up to Rs 10 lakh will be given on construction of such charging facilities. So far, approval for 250 charging stations have been granted, said Rupani. The subsidy will be granted as per kg and per kw basis.In the first phase, 1.5 lakh e-scoter, 70,000 rikshaw and 25,000 cars will ply on roads in different cities of the state.

It is learnt that Gujarat has made this policy better than other states. The state Chief Minister said that electrification of public transport could also be considered in the future, adding that local people will be free to buy vehicle of their choice as per their suitability.

Ahmedabad: Under the National Food Security Act, free foodgrains are provided to the poor. However, ration cards that have not been taken for more than six months have now been blocked. The state's food and civil supplies department has placed such ration cards in the silent category.

Holders of these ration cards will have to undergo e-verification otherwise they will be transferred to non-NFSC category. More than two lakh ration cards have been blocked across Gujarat.

Free foodgrains are being distributed to the poor through lockdown during the Corona period. Grains including chickpeas, wheat, rice are distributed from reasonably priced shops. With regard to free food, the government is singing the praises that millions of people have been given free food.

Now the state's Food and Civil Supplies Department has traced ration card holders who have not been able to get free foodgrains for the past six months. Now the question arises, why the poor are not willing to take free food. There is also a doubt as to why more than two lakh ration card holders do not come to buy foodgrains.

In this regard, the number of ration card holders receiving free foodgrains under the National Food Security Act is a factor of more than 7 million. There are more than two lakh ration card holders in Gujarat who have not taken foodgrains from reasonably priced shops under this scheme for the last six months.

The state's Food and Civil Supplies Department has instructed all collectors and district supply officers to verify such ration card holders by August 31. If e-verification is not done, the ration card will be placed in the category of non-NFSC. At present, the ration cards of cardholders who have not received foodgrains for more than six months in the state have been put on the disabled list.

PPF scheme::

An account can be opened at a bank or post office under this scheme. Apart from this it can also be transferred to any bank or any post fee.

This account can be opened for only Rs. But then it is necessary to deposit Rs.500 every year. A maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh can be deposited in this account every year.

The plan is for 15 years. From which money cannot be withdrawn in the meantime. But after 15 years the plan can be extended for 5-5 years.

This account cannot be closed before 15 years. But after 3 years the loan can be taken against this account. Anyone can withdraw money under the rules from the 7th year of this account if they wish.

The government reviews interest rates every three months. This interest rate can be more or less. The account is currently earning 7.1% interest.

By investing in this scheme Rs. Tax exemption up to Rs 1.5 lakh can be obtained under 80C.

What is the return on investment for 10 years?

Under this scheme, if you invest Rs 1 lakh for 10 years, you will get Rs 2,02,136. That is, you will get Rs 1,02,136 lakh as interest.

Kisan Vikas Patra ::

The Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) Savings Scheme is currently offering 6.9% interest.

There is no maximum investment limit in KVP. However, your minimum investment should be Rs.

The investor must be at least 18 years of age. It also has the facility of joint account apart from single account.

Minors can also be included in the scheme. But that account must be handled by their parents.

If you want to withdraw your investment you have to wait at least 2.5 years. It has a lock-in period of two and a half years.

The amount deposited under this is exempted under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act.

What is the return on investment for 10 years?

Under this scheme, if you invest Rs 1 lakh for 10 years, you will get Rs 1,98,201. That is, you will get interest in excess of Rs 98,201 lakh.

Post Office National Savings Certificate Scheme ::

Post Office National Savings Certificate (NSC) is earning 6.8% annual interest

The interest is calculated on an annual basis, but the amount of interest is paid at the end of the investment period

The amount deposited in the National Savings Certificate is tax deductible under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act.

You have to invest a minimum of Rs 100 to open an NSC account.

This account can also be opened in the name of a minor and a joint in the name of 3 adults.

You can invest any amount in NSC. There is no maximum investment limit.

What is the return on investment for 10 years?

Under this scheme, if you invest Rs 1 lakh for 10 years, you will get Rs 1,96,262. That is, you will get interest in excess of Rs 96,262 lakh.

Time Deposit Scheme ::

A fixed deposit account can be opened at the post office by cash or check.

According to India Post, in the case of a check, the account will be deemed to have been opened from the date of receipt of the check in the government's account.

This account can also be opened in the name of a minor and as a joint account in the name of two adults.

A minimum deposit of Rs. 1,000 is required to open a Post Office FD account. It has no maximum limit.

The Post Office Time Deposit Account offers interest rates ranging from 5.5% to 6.7% for a period of 1 to 5 years.

Deposit tax will be paid at 5.5% for 1 to 3 years and 6.7% for 5 years investment.

A tax exemption of up to Rs 1.5 lakh can be availed under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act for 5 years of investment.
