Apart from this, if a person is not in a good mental condition, a SIM card cannot be sold to him.
This is a very common question that is asked every time but there is no definite answer. It is generally said that a person can buy a maximum of 9 SIM cards in his name, when this is not the case. A person can buy a maximum of 18 SIM cards in his name. 9 of these will be used for mobile calls and the other 9 for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.

Recently, the government has changed the rules for getting a SIM card, according to which you will have to have a digital KYC instead of a physical one to get a SIM card. In this case, customers will not be required to submit any documents. Apart from this no paper will be required to convert postpaid SIM to prepaid. Users will be able to do KYC manually through the network provider company app and for this only Rs 1 will be charged from the customers.
